Reg number from a frame number

I've got an old british bike and the old brown log book, the log book has been cancelled and its original reg number is now on a dealers site for sale.
Would my bike have been issued with another reg number when the log book was cancelled? I'm guessing it would.

If so how would I find out what that number is?

From what I know i think the reg transfer took place around 2008 so there should be some records, shouldn't there?

Inquire with the DVLA, give them the engine and the frame numbers, if the original number has been transferred ,a new age related number can be issued.

I can check via the vin number if its still registered and if so what the reg is and if its recorded scrapped/stolen/written off etc. Costs £20 pm me if needed.

think there is something going on with the private messages on here, twice now I have been able to see people have messaged me but when I try and open them it shows "Could not update private message read status for user"
