I've got a trip from Enfield to Great Missenden tomorrow, anyone tell me what the weather's like in the Chilterns? I'm debating whether to risk the bike or play safe and take the Landrover.

I road to and from work today (south bucks to London) zero fucks were given. The snow was patchy and only got annoying on the way home when it was sticking to my visor. It’s obviously pretty cold so if you don’t have muffs and good gloves you will be in pain fast.

The snow has not settled.

Saying that tomorrow looks like there is a higher chance it will be heavier and last longer. It takes me an extra hour nearly to get the train in to work but I will still be making a call in th morning, it’s currently saying it will be -4 when I leave for work :/.

If I was you I would be in the landy.

The amount of salt on our main roads up north was mad today, like riding on a path through a beach. Hardly any snow at all yet, not even a dusing.

Tbh I'm more concerned about ice on the back roads, Bucks aren't over generous with the salt. I'll shove the starring handle in the Landie.

Jayy - mate. You're not thinking. Only a moral fag would want to get to work without seriously endangering life and limb. Mr. Green

I'm in North Bucks and there is nothing sticking so from that point of view it should be OK.

However it's as cold as a witches tit and as Bodytard rightly says, I am a warm weather pussy. Even a Landie has too many shitty leaky air vents and a crap heater for this sort of temperature IMO. Laughing

Well I took the Landie, so far it's been perfect biking weather, if it doesn't snow before I head home I will be seriously pissed off. Partly because of guzzling petrol at 17 mpg for no good reason but mainly because the bike is actually warmer to ride.

Why not fit a Webasto as so many canal boats have?

The Modern winterised Military Landrovers all had Webasto Airtop's fitted which made them swelteringly warm regardless of the conditions. If I remember you have a LWB so add a fume curtain (assuming not a safari) and you will be so warm it will shock you.
