Hey all. Just wondering if any of you have issues with vibration through bars affecting bones etc. I've hardly ridden recently but I did take a short run to a country pub with a couple and have a sore bone on my wrist joint.
I'm not convinced it's just the bike but in case I can improve on it, do different compounds of grips make a difference?

Grip puppies thread.

Spooge some silicone sealant into the bars. I've not tried it, but it sounds like a laugh, at least for someone else to have a go at.

Heavier bar end weights?

I recently got back on the bike after on-off stints because winter and had wrist pain because heavy clutch. After a few days of constant riding it seems less noticeable. Different issue, I appreciate, but I sense the resolution is the same: getting used to riding again.

Yeah i'm looking forward to some more riding. The weather has certainly been a dampener on it. I'm going to do a longer trip as soon as possible, if it's causing an issue i'll know then.

I'm serious about the silicone, by the way.

I've heard good things about these, my brother-in-laws dad uses them (he has arthritis) and he says they work wonders, but I can't personally vouch for them as I've never used them Thumbs Up

I've used grip puppies.

Yeah they absorb some vibration but I find they make the grip a bit too large in diameter for my teensie hands. Additionally, because they are softer they require a bit more a firm grip to prevent throttle closure so I got a different type of "issue" while using them.

I say issue, you get used to it. I used some R&G super grippy things and once they wore through I wanted to try some puppies. Preferred the R&G softer/grippy type things.

YMMV

Can't comment on the Trumpian hands, but actually I find the opposite is true of grip strength - and it's actually the reason why I use grip puppies because I get sore hands. Their foam surface provides more friction than standard rubber grips so you can hang on less firmly before your gloves start sliding over the surface.

As you say - YMMV!
