Was browsing ebay and spotted these https://www.performancemotorcycleparts.co.uk/accessories_pages/fifth_turn_throttle.htm. The ebay item is £10 so I thought what the hell and ordered one, has anybody got one?

I nearly got one for my MZ as it was cheaper than a proper one.

I can't see it being easy to use for every day riding tbh. Good for trackdays when you just can't snap the throttle open quick enough.

I guess it's one of those suck it and see scenarios. You'll find your throttle is almost digital now, either on or off, very little in-between.

My old yamaha powervalve had a similar thing, throttle was virtually either on or off, had maybe 1/3 of a turn. Doesn't do your chances of staying within the speed limit much good though.

The VTR storm I was riding had a quick action throttle.. I found I could ride it normally, but a quick snap of the throttle and it'd take off.

I plan to fit one to SV.. but going to wait for you to fit yours first Wink so I can check it out before spending £26 on it Very Happy

When you fitting yours then?

hehe

I have one on the R6 I reckon.

Often you can replace your throttle with one from a bigger bike.

It will not make the carbs work quicker on most 4 strokes, as you are turning the butterfly valve. However on a powerful or short geared bike it may help a bit, but will give a more twitchy feeling in some cases.

Doubt it will massively effect lower powered bikes apart from meaning you can be a bit lazier Smile.
