Well I like it its a refreshing change, real retro not simulated retro, its virtually the same as my 1981 Jawa 638 but with disk brake, electronic ignition and the addition of electric start along with the kicker, not fast like Jap bikes but fast enough and 32nM of torque which is what its all about, thats why so many pulled sidecars in the Czech republic, ride it every day, not much to go wrong really, it doesn't even have an engine management brain, single carb, ahhhh just like the old days |

"Is it reasonably easy to frig it so it works like a normal change?
On the old Triumphs, they were more or less all de-Slickshifted."
Yes it can be done and some people do, but I like it and rarely use the handlebar clutch only at traffic lights etc, I change both up and down just with the foot control, its smooth enough, not like a jap bike but it works well , you can also disengage the clutch by just holding the gear lever down with your foot, I think its a pretty good feature, the kick start I rarely use because I have electric start which works really well, but its nice to have the option, the Jawa gearbox is a bit agricultural but you get smooth changes every time when you are used to it, about 27bhp with a dealer upgrade but 32Nm of torque standard and a bit more when tweaked by the dealer, they are pretty torquey low reving bikes, but I have always liked them as it was my first "big" bike when I was 21 and they are still made , but if you want high performace, then a Jawa is not the bike

I is like that, but then I’ve never had “normal” tastes when it come to bikes.
Someone will be along shortly to tell you it’s crap because it doesn’t have 10 billion bhp or because it can’t do 10,000 mph like their bike ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

Well I ignore idiots like that, real bike enthusiasts should be able to appreciate any bike for what it is, the Jawa 350 has been in continual production since the 1950s, it does the job, it cant be that bad otherwise it wouldn't have endured for so long, I think they are great, simple, torquey, easy to fix, cheap parts, physically pretty large, comfortable and reliable, we have a forum on Facebook "Jawa CZ and Yezdi owners forum" nearly 1000 members in under a year so they have a big following worldwide, and parts are so cheap |

Its a POS, it doesn't have plastic all over it and a fucking megaphone exhaust, my GSXR is faster in 1st gear, pile of shit.
But I like it too |
Good man, they all have their place, I ride this every day and it does the job just fine, its just so basic its great, that combined kick start, clutch and gear change all in one is so quirky its brilliant, and it works!! and yes, your GSXR probably is faster in first gear, but the Jawa still bowls along at a fair old pace if you want it to |
