COC is supplied by Manufacturer/Importer. Why doesn't your bike have one, from where did you buy it?

As sickpup says, should have come with one. Go back to the seller and ask for it.

Thanks for the reply. The registration pack with cofc has been lost and I'm not getting any replies from the Manufacturer/ Importer (DB) Just thought there was a chance someone might have what I need.

They haven't provided one because they can't. The Nevada is a carbed Euro 3 bike. Euro 4 has been mandatory since January 2017, with some grandfathering in of older vehicles which won't apply to individual registrations.

I'd expect you've bought it from someone who's found this out the hard way.

You can try and punt it on to another victim, or you can register it under the Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval scheme, which will cost you £85 and a day on a trailer or in a van.

Many thanks for that very useful information. I did enquire about the msva route and they told me that the bike can't be inspected without a coc, which seems crazy. I have tried to read the Gov web site, but it is very contradictory. Its quite confusing because at one stage it says you need an msva if you've got no documentation and then its says you need a coc ?

From Roger's link...
Quote:
Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval
When you must use the scheme
To register your motorcycle, 3-wheeled or light 4-wheeled vehicle, it must:

comply with European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA)
have a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to prove this
It must be inspected under the Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval (MSVA) scheme if it doesn’t have a Certificate of Conformity.

Thanks, so it must have CoC, even to go through MSVA

No, that's not what it says. Try reading it again!

I'm just confused, done so much reading. IKnow that Direct Bikes are still advertising and selling the same Nevada, so I can't see why it is not possible to register it with the correct documents is CoC

Must have originally been sold by them and yes I've read the reviews since. I've had the bike a while and have only just got around to registering it, or at least trying to. Thats when I realized there could be problems ahead. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what people are saying about the msva and the Certificate of Conformity ?

My apologies, I have just re-read the Gov site and as you've said if it doesn't have a Certificate of Conformity, it must be inspected under the MSVA scheme.

I have always been happy to do it that way and go through the inspection.

I cannot understand why they told me that it cannot be inspected WITHOUT a certificate of conformity. Obviously that person gave me the wrong information. I will phone them tomorrow and query this. Meanwhile thank you for clarifying the situation.

Never underestimate the ability of a civil servant, government agency or local authority minion to give you misinformation. Thumbs Up

Too right, the DVSA lady completely threw me. I shall telephone the DVSA Exeter back first thing tomorrow morning and ask why I was misinformed. Hopefully, the application and actual inspection will be relatively straight forward from now on. Anyway thanks again to everyone for the help, even the sarcastic ones lol.

I haven't come across that yet with all the reading I've been ploughing through. I'll Google it now but if you can give me a simplified version it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Sickpup,

If I understand correctly a NOVA declaration is to do with providing proof that import duty has been paid for DVLA purposes. Am I correct..? Another bridge to cross then because I haven't got any paperwork whatsoever. How do I go about getting one please ?
