My left indicator (front & back) lights up but doesn't flash most of the time (used to be occaisonally, but it's most of the time now). If the right indicator behaved the same way I'd say it was the indicator relay but the right ones flash normally.

I'm hoping that this is just a loose connection or broken wire in the left hand indicator circuit. What do you think ?

If it is, is it feasable for me to locate with a multimeter and fix/replace the wire/connection given that I'm more than a little hamfisted at things mechanical ?

I'm also under the impression that, strictly speaking, this makes my bike un-roadworthy because indicators have to flash 60-120 per second. This lead to me almost wearing out the switch, and my thumb, when the police pulled up behind me and I manually indicated and cancelled repeatedly to simulate the flashing.

I remember something like that happening on me when i had my nsr. I think it might be the flasher relay - not entirely sure though so wait for someone to back me up before you do anything.

Yeah, that's what I thought too but after checking the workshop manual it said there was only a single flasher relay which was shared by both left & right indicators.

Of course I know nothing about how relays can fail so that could still be the problem Confused

Oh, the bike is a '95 Honda CA125 if that helps anyone in the diagnosis.

could be a bad connection somewhere, how about unplugging the connectors and giving them a wipe with cotton budd's. Then once there clean a quick squirt of WD40 and plufg em back together. Not sure if it will work or not, but wont do any harm in trying
