Alarm Problem

Hi there.

I have a Meta 357T alarm fitted to my Bandit with a movement sensor, I set the alarm after turning it off and I get the usual double flash of the indicator and 2 beeps as usual. However after the 26 second leave your bike period the alarm can't even be set, even if I vigorously shake the bike about. However if I put the key in the ignition and turn it without disarming the alarm the alarm goes off. Are the motion sensors not working or what? Smile

very much sounds like it. Usually just a kick of the tyre sets the alarm off...

I have the same alarm, but no problems with mine at all. It sounds to me like your alarm is going into 'sleep mode'. It will do this when:
1, The alarm is not activated/operated for 10 days
2, The bike's battery voltage is low

I suspect your problem is number 2. Is your battery flat or knackered? Does your battery hold charge well or does it keep going flat on you? I notice you haven't started riding your bike yet so this also indicates a bike battery fault. What you said about switching on the ignition to get the alarm back to life is correct if the alarm is entering sleep mode. Let us know about the state of your bike battery and I may be able to offer you some more advice.

My battery is linked up to an Optimate and therefore is fully charged. Smile

My Dad did make the alarm go off the other day as he accidently walked into my bike the daft sod. Thing is they just let the alarm carry on going off. How can I get it out of sleep mode? Smile

You can only exit the sleep mode by switching on the igntion and pressing the alarm fob. But when you re-arm the system if it falls back into sleep mode then there is definately a problem. If your bike is that new then is the alarm not under warranty?

Well if its under warranty, get the alarm fitter to have a look at it, thats what you pay all that money for.

Well just went outside, I gave the bike a good shake and it went off. Tried again after resetting it, nothing. Then I did it again and it did go off. Obviously just a little bit temperamental. Will get it looked at. As far as I am concerned if they wanted the bike they would have to move it hell of a lot, hence it going off. Laughing
