Neither of the bikes were stolen the kid was done for carrying a pillion.
The other kid ran because he thought they were being robbed, they didn't know it was the police on the crossers.

Great to get that objective first hand perspective that doesn't need a source to confirm it.

Ahh, and I guess, before he made his final run for it, he must have thought that lovely yellow & blue bike, with flashing blue lights, was just more thieves in disguise, not the police at all, asking him to come back to the bike!!

The kid does look like he ran to the roundabout before the cop bike turned up then stopped when he saw it... I'm all for using this technique for bike thieves but if it's true they just had a pillion then that's OTT.

What can i say its fake news, GMP haven't commented. This happened in north manchester where there isn't a big problem with so called moped gangs.

As someone who spends all day driving between Manchester and Moston I can confirm that actually, there are a good few of them about. There's certainly a lot of stolen bikes ridden around on a daily basis, you can tell on account of the fact they ride without helmets and there's no plates on the bikes. I've even seen a scooter ridden around with the plate "FUCK GMP", so I'd say there definitely is a problem in the area. This by the way was about 200 yards down the road from where this video was taken.

I watched a series on some bad cable channel called 'Cop Car Workshop' a couple months back. Id say that the bikes used in this incident were consistent with the ones in the tv show, which was based with GMP.

Maybe there isn't a big problem with moped gangs BECAUSE of Police actions like this?
