Hi all

I have a 70s GT250 to amuse myself with over the summer. It has no speedo/tach currently and genuine used ones are going for more than I'm prepared to pay (based on the fact the bike cost me nowt!)

I would prefer a retro looking one with dial(s) rather than LCD displays if possible and there are a raft of option on ebay it seems - so I figured I'd ask here for any recommendations..

.. BTW do any of these units take a mechanical spinny cable input? I've seen one that looks like it might for tacho.

Cheers

J

You can get realy cheap copy smiths chronometric speedos made in india off ebay. They are cable operated. I'm not sure how they'd play gearing-wise and quality is highly variable. However, cheap.

Indeed - stuff seems ludicrously cheap I was looking at this for example..

Cheap enough just to experiment with I think.

The Chinese stuff is cack. Better off finding any cheap OEM clocks and making bracketry to suit.

What about a pair of GS500 clocks? Fairchance they have similar gearing because they the same manufacturer. Seem to have a cable tacho too (you can buy tacho cables for them). Several for £30-40 on ebay, come with bracket and warning lights.
