Stainless button-headed hex socket screws for fairings etc.

I see Toolstation sell these quite reasonably. I was thinking of polishing the heads of these for use where on show. Drill, Brasso, old carpet? Anyone tried polishing such things/how?

I use them ,It's only A2 Stainless but it does buff up with a electric buff , I made mine using a variable speed angle grinder and fabbed up a threaded mounting cone to carry the wheels.

A toolstation/Silverline polishing kit - in a drill, did a great job on alu and steel parts I machined. The effort seems wasted to me.. Stainless bolt heads are usually acceptable out the packet.. what bike?

Does seem a lot of effort for anything that not on a turn table, adorned by scantily clad ladies.

But.. i'd suggest chucking up the bolts in the drill and holding a polishing cloth / felt + polishing compound in your hand.

Better still, if you have a pillar drill or something else to attach a polishing wheel to so both the bolt and polishing thing are spinning, that would be better.

If you're into your happy tat, you can get anodized bolts from china for cheap or from pro bolt for not 'too' much money. But don't tell anyone on bcf if you do. They won't be happy.
