in the beginning my nsr always started with the first or the second kick, but a couple days ago, i had to kick at least 10 times to start him, i thougt the sparkplug was broken and indeed it was.
so i went to the shop and bought me a new one and screwed it in.
it is an original sparkplug, but now he still doesn't start that good,(after the 6th kick orso)
please help to start my nsr better

thanx

errr... sorry not much help but the model you've got is the NS125R not the NSR125R, before people get confused (the NSR125R doesn't ahve a kickstart).

Have you appropriatley adjusted the spark plug gap... though I suspect this is more likley to be a fueling issue.... when I had my NS it often needed to be bumped started in the cold... wouldn't kickstart at all Confused

Sorry nsrke....can't really help you Confused

.....just a query...

when my mates and I used to mess around with crossers etc, if the bike stalled at all after it had been running...it would be a bitch to start (somebody mentioned compression at the time) why would this be?...and could it be related to the ns125 problem?

If it is a compression related problem, there's a trick of the trade to start it. Just take out the spark plug and heat the end that produces the spark with a lighter. When it's warm put it back in the bike and try starting her up. You obviously don't want to have to do this every time you go out on your bike, but you will know that if she starts easier, then it is a compression problem.

Kris, when it stalls it floods so unless you wait a bit it can be tough to restart.

Is this just happening on cold days?.. it *could* be that it's just needs a few kicks to get it warmed up a bit Smile

What was wrong with the spark plug?

it might just need a good thrashing. My old 100 used to flood really easily and when it did, it oiled the sparkplug so I had to change it before I could get it to start again - otherwise i'd be there all day. A good thrashing usually sorted it.

Have you checked your choke cable hasn't snapped or anything? If it's an aftermarket fairing the cables may not fit exactly right and may have snagged/whatever.

i solved the problem, i cleaned out the carbu and set it just like that, the engine would run nicely
with the sparkplug the little tube(i think it is called a diode) was almost completely gone
a couple hours ago i went to the garage and she started with the second kick

thanx again for the advice
