i know the best way to get a quote is to phone everywhere BUT i dont have a bike yet ... hell i aint even done my test so i was wondering which would be a good bike insure as a first time rider .. im thinking maybe a bandit 400 or gs500, although im unsure however, i dont have any ncb .. not until june if i switch insurance companies will i loose my (nearly one years) ncb?

Get some online quotes from places like www.clickquote.com to see how different bikes compare.

If you change insurance company then that's starting a new policy so your years NCB clock would start again. Look at just starting a new policy and leaving your old one to run and then leave the NCB for if you need to use it and see if you can find anywhere which will do a policy shorter than 12 months for your new bike so yu can then use the years NCB in June.

lol i have a cbt ... otherwise i wouldnt have had insurance since june

When u take your test you might find that you could use tyhe same insurance company that they insure there bikes through. I did and after passing my test I brought a ZXR600 and it cost me £525 third party fire and theft, thats through Carole Nash Tel 08000 834 422 :up:

Your right, phone around. Some you'll get a quote and just start laughing as its that high, then some you'll get a decent quote.

Dont worry about your age. Im sure there is better but i'm 17, 0 NCB new rider and i own a RVF400 96' ... £653.34 Fully Comp It can be done

No one insurer is best. Dont rush either.

So far, online, I have been quoted up to £1400 pounds on three seperate occasions for the 125 MZ. This is frankly rediculous. That is only TPFT and I thought the first quote from quikquote was extortionate@ £800 TPFT.

dont worry i got quoted £800 by some on my kawasaki ar50 ... wow that sounds like a great quote for the rvf !
