Bad News For Elvington?

This really winds me up. It's a bloody airport, of course there will be noise, and from a light plane? Shock Horror, call the police.

This reminds me of 1/4 scale racing. We used to have a brilliant track in Southampton, but 'they' bought a plot of land next door and proceeded to build 'executive' apartments. When finished, the new residents promptly complained about the noise and intrusion of privacy (the rostrum was above the height of the wall) and got the place shut down. Just like that. After 25 years of constant use. Bastards.

YEs it's definitely Elvington Keith

the huge square area is broken up by fences on race days and is the start area, some pits and also a bit usually used by a couple of semi-pro stunt nutters for practise



it's only a semi active airfield, no atc and I think really only emergency diversion

The link has changed.
From a noise point of view I can hear them from Heslington which is a few miles off. Bike and car racing isn't that noisy from a distance, most noise comes from the air show and from when the F1 teams use the runway for testing. I can only hear the noise when I'm outside, can't here anything from inside. Can't say I'm that bothered by noise anyway. Just the stupid local residents who have nothing better to do than grumble about it.
