Hello everyone!
I felt in love with Yamaha Raider at first sight. It looks amazing, but it isn't available in UK. However, I read that it can be easily get from USA. Have anyone heard about this bike? Have any of you got it? Is there a problem with getting parts to it?

There isn't much of a cruiser following on here, but I'm sure somebody with some love for them may be able to help you in due course Thumbs Up

Is the raider the 1700cc one? If so it's only 80bhp with a shit load of pipes and re-mapping, and I'd estimate it to be dull as fuck at the weight of the thing.

I know Shaft was on about Jap cruisers having the wrong sound and a boring lack of personality, but the bike to get I think is the Suzuki M109R Intruder.

There's this black guy I see riding round here on one all sons of anarchy (white trainers) and I've seen and heard the thing shuddering up the hill on the ring round at 40mph probably in top without it even noticing.

I didn't realise that they were such a powerful cruiser 128bhp and 115ibft. I guess that's V-rod performance or near enough?

That's hilarious.

It must have won prizes for having the worst specifications ever?

I know we take the piss out of a lot of bikes but that thing is in a class of its own.

It looks like yamaha have dropped their XVS range leaving only the XV950 as a cruisery thing. Wait, no, all the japanese manufacturers apear to have gotten out of cruisers in the uk. Did euro 4 kill them all. I'm not sure the CMX500 and Vulcan S really count as they are modern water cooled bikes with silly riding positions.

So triumph thunderbird or go american?

If you're after a decent Jap cruisers, I'd go for the Suzuki Intruder. Comparative to the Raider is the 1800cc Intruder which has much better specs:

It looks better and performs better too.
