Not just you. Wink
Gotta love the commentator interviewing one of the racers mid-race - was that a thing back then!?

Laughing

That's what I thought.
How about asking MM what he's thinking and doing just as he dives under Dovi? Laughing

Do yourself a favour and watch the proddy endurance race from Amaroo, which is linked on the same page.

Yeah, I did. Bog stock apart from lights removed. Le Mans start. XS1100s and CBX1000s. Bugger all ground clearance. Scary. And how close to the armco, with spectators just on the other side! One of the trackside cameras looked like it was going to go for a fast lap at any minute too Laughing

Crosby cool and dismissive as feck in interview - man of few words Cool

Ah, when men were real men!
Time to permanently fix my rose-tinted specs in place Laughing

I don't see that here (aren't those proffered Youtube links customised per user)? Could you post the link? Smile

The guy on the start line diving on the front and pumping the front was just ridiculous and they were racing on a bikes made from macaroni with a twin shock absorbers, slow mo bounce was fun Shocked

It was fun to look but no desire to ride such stuff...

The head on shot of the pit approach was quite something, with Crosby looking relatively composed on the CBX and Greg Pretty bucking all over the shop behind on the XS11, especially when he lost the back end and somehow managed to keep it right side up.

Is that it? That's your contribution? That's as far as you got? Laughing

The point for me is the spectacle of it.
It could never happen now, especially the Amaroo one, with spectators inches from trackside. It has all been tamed. Just as well, you might say, and part of me agrees, but I'm glad there was a time when it was like this.
