OK guys, could do with some help.

Theres a few mates of mine who will not accept that bikes are more powerful then cars. I wouldn't normally bother arguing, but with a bit of help, I think I can turn them round. Basically, I need some websites that show specs of various bikes, would like ZX6R and a good thou', showing power, weight, 0-60, top speed etc and a similar thing for cars. If anyone knows any sites like this, please link.

https://www.bikez.com

And more than often cars are more powerfull than bikes.

Just bikes have a better power to weight ratio.

no, this is worse then you think, they wouldn't accept that a 1 litre bike has more power then a 1 litre car! Yeah, they ain't that clued. Has a surprising amount of trouble finding spec sheets with google.

My girlfriends brother has a 3litre twin turbo Supera, we were out in it last week, i think he was a bit put out that i wasn't really impressed/shocked at how fast it was going Very Happy allthough its a REALLY nice car, and will loose you your licence in not much time at all if you want to Shocked

But no car is as fun as a bike, even a small capacity bike is still great fun...

I just find cars as entertaining as pushing a shopping trolley arround asda nowdays Neutral allthough they have their uses.

Let them keep thinking it, fact is to beat a £6000(or less) sports bike youd need a BEAST of a car and a very good driver to keep up. You know that, i know that, let them find it out for themselfs Razz

Point him directly at this link and then point out that it shows a standard road bike (costing less than a bloody Mini). The R1 is shown having 148bhp at the back wheel, and since most car claims won't be at the wheel (?) you can probably go with its 172bhp at the crank. Now point out that it means the R1 has a power to weight ratio of 1bhp per kilogram. So, that means he needs to find a standard road going car with about 1500bhp! Laughing

Now show him the 10.35s standard quarter time at 146.89mph. When he's finsihed checking Nova and Escort figures he'll eventually move onto Ferraris and Lamborghinis and then realise he's still screwed! Laughing

Alternatively, you could just ask him for a race...

Why the hell have you got a runner 125, 172 for the win!

Anyway, 28Bhp Aprilia RS 125 0-60 in about 7 seconds?

28 bhp car, say a daewoo matiz? 0-60 in about 20+ seconds?

I'd be very suprised if there are any cars with as little as 28bhp. A 1.6 escort pushes out 90bhp.

It's all about the power to weight. And a 172 runner would mean you'd need a full licence, at which point you probably don't want a 'ped anymore.

Some cars out there are about 30-40 bhp, 1 litre<

To the runner guy:

a Malossi mhr 172 will be a whole lot more reliable, if run in well.

The wankel motor is very powerful for its size, there are cars out there which only push about 30 give or take a bit bhp.

Considering fiat do 800cc thing as well.
