Hi guys new to the forum

Just got my hands on a fairy decent yamaha rs100 from 77.
Issue at the moment is it's missing it's kick start. I've purchased a aftermarket one from yambits and it does not fit.

The spline internal measurements are 12mm however I've measured the crank axle spline and it's 16mm ???? Looking on eBay it looks like the gearbox had been rebuilt with rxs parts.

Before I splash out more money on a rxs kick start. Does my theory sound right ?

Cheers guys

RS 100 frame and running gear with a RSX engine?

Why do you suspect a RS engine with RSX internals? Are RS and RSX internal even compatible?

Maybe one of the two-stroke forums or the Yamaha owners forum or VJMC.

Hi bud it's defo an rs100 motor but the kick start shaft is 16mm looking on eBay there is an rsx100 shaft which measures 16mm hence my thinking .....

My repro kick start is way too small to fit ☹

Different year engine to the frame year?, check the log book., ie someone in the past changed engines.

Not sure about cross compatibility with the RXS but I do know the RS100 and RS125 engines could be directly swapped using the same wiring harness. I suspect those engines were identical internally (I do know the right hand outer case was cross-compatible too).

Afraid I can't help with the splined shaft!
