headlight issues on my daytona 650

I went to take my bike out the other day to find that the low beam didn't work, but both headlights turn on when I switch to full beam. Could this just be a faulty fuse / relay or is it more serious. Any suggestions would be grateful.

From what you say the switch is not giving a signal / feed to the dipped relay in one position only.

The bulb is probably a dual filament bulb, which means the dipped beam filament bulb has blown maybe? Or it could just be the high beam relay is broken or not connected properly.

I had a problem like this recently with my VFR800 and it turned out that water had got inside of the left hand switchgear. I cleaned it out and coated it with dielectric grease and it was much better.

Think your bike carries a Dip Relay and a Main Beam relay ,swap them over to see if the same thing happens , takes the faulty relay out of the equation

Through a touch of reading through other forums i was planning to check the relays to see if the problem followed the relays to save ordering parts i might not need as well as am attempt to rule anything out. Being a complete novice i was hoping it was just a fuse. When both headlights worked but only as full beam i thought i could rule out bulbs as didn't know they could come as a dual filament and had made the assumption that one bulb was dipped and one was full like on my old cbr.

I had a look under my seat last night to check out the relays etc but found that the layout is different to the diagrams I could find. I could only see 4 relays. One different and then three of the same. The one different had the same code as the headlight code on my bike diagram and when I removed this the full beam then didn't turn on. Could the relay be dodgy so still makes the full beam and not the dipped beam work or is it that both dipped filaments in my now discovered dual filament bulbs both blown?
Being a complete novice Jaffa90 Im not sure but if I was to hazard a guess I would say that they are twin headlights

Some bikes have 1 headlight for dip and the other for high beam,

Thanks Jaffa90 for bearing with and the manual! yes they are twin headlights that I have got so I shall be getting some bulbs on order. Any recommendations on best to places to buy?

When i was a teen the engine had to be running for the headlight to work, later bikes had a switch to turn them on and off, even later bikes have lights on when turning the key.
Q, do some bikes have twin headlights (like cars) when turning the key come on ????????????

with my Daytona lights are on as soon as I turn the key, no need to start the bike. The only light switch there is, is to switch between full and dipped beam.
