Hello all, just joined up and saying a quick hello.

Been riding a few years now and getting quite into my track days.

Current bikes are xmax300 for the commute, R1 and a newly bought 2010 ZX6R which is going to be my new track toy Very Happy

Welcome MrGMan

Are you on the R1 forum www.yamahar.co.uk?

Or any of the R1 pages on faceback?

I have not been to Loomies but I know several people who do.But I am quite regularly at Rykas/Box Hill and Newlands Corner.

I am on YamahaR and a facebook one, and some triumph ones as i've had a few triumphs now.

Loomies is great as the roads down that way are awesome, occasionally i go to Rykas but from where i am the roads are pretty dull to get there. Unless you go via loomies, which me and a mate did last year Laughing

Nope this is my goto place for GOOD advice on bikes, the world and life. I also use it as a diary for my obsessions, including bikes.

The forum is dying but I like how it's a sort of snapshot of early-2000s biking viewpoints, habits and culture. There are probably people here who could take a bike tour all around Europe and wild camp the entire way, and who've even done exactly that at some point... Some with tech knowledge and mechanical experience to match. Bike subreddits are much more active but they don't have the same kind of depth. If people just want to ride 30 miles and take a photo of their bike to post to Reddit, they might enjoy stories and stuff, but not necessarily want to follow in the same footsteps. Bike subreddits probably have a strong future because they have a more casual, momentary feel. Flakiness can be a good thing.
