I had a plan on Sunday, take a few mates on a pootle down to D&K, grab a burger and a coffee, see if they have anything i'd chop mine in for and then bimble back.
We set off and headed from Manchester on the A34 through Congleton, there was me on the 'XX', 2 R6's, 1 Fazer 1000, 1 Fazer 600 and a Thundercat, we had a good run down and by the time we got to the gates i was busting for a widdle (as were others) and then BUGGER!!!!!! the gates were closed and a sign saying they don't open Sundays???? Now i would have thought that Sunday was the busiest day for biking but obviously i'm sadly mistaken.........
Anyway, before we left 6 other bikes turned up so it shows that there is demand for it to be open.
We headed back up towards the M6, A50 and then back through Holmes Chappel, Chelford (where i went after a TVR CERBERA which ended up getting caught in traffic so it was 'game over') and back into sunny Manchester.

D&K has been closing on Sundays for over 2 years now. It started with just closing over the winter months and then they must have decided to give their hardworking staff the Sunday off permanently. Rolling Eyes Mr. Green

Oh and where is the Pink Ranger?? Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green

My guess is that because most of them who work there are probably bikers and that they want to get out on a Sunday themselves. Just a guess. Smile

A lot of bike shops close on a sunday (well, the ones that sell BIKES do around here)

I agree with you, it seems like the sort of day they should be open.

My immediate thought was

"What would you want to go to D&K for anyway?!"

It was probably for the best that they were closed Wink

Not for a bike that for sure, but the clothing/accesory department upstairs isn't too bad. They used to do good deals on Arai helmets but that has stopped now. Crying or Very sad

AFAIK, its not actually owned by DK Motorcycles, and they trade as a seperate company.

Correct, sorry should have mentioned that, then again you can tell by the good service you get there and not downstairs. Mr. Green

Itll be open on Sundays in a couple of weeks. It usually closes over the winter months due to lack of demand.

Its only recently opened, I went in the other week and it seemed hideously expensive. I much prefer to go cissbury leathers which is down the road from D&K.

Hein Gericke is good, but can be pricey.

D&H is great, and you can get some real bargains there. And they're open Sundays. AND they're right next door to The Rigger.
