Advice, please. Does anyone know if I can buy an open face helmet but with a protective chin bar- I know Schuberth used to make one but don't appear to anymore? Can't seem to find any.

Don't bother. You'll die and kill many kittens.

The Shark Evoline is the closest that I would trust. Full face is always better.

I think if it's open face, by definition any chin bar will not be protective. And it'll look silly.

You could go for one of the retro full face lids?

or

or if you want the weathered look:

Although I can imagine coppers paying a bit too much attention to that one ^^^ Laughing

I did find this one though, a bit more modern and it's classified as a full face.

I think that might be the issue. If you want the chinbar to be protective, it's actually classified as a full face or flip front lid...

Do a search on here and you'll find Rogerborgs DIY effort in a thread that contains some decent options.
I'm surprised no one else remembers it, it was.... unique.

I had one a while back, can't remember what it was now. The memorable thing was that the chin bar didn't fit over my chin. It also clipped in very lightly, so I wouldn't want to trust it for crash protection.

I just use a normal open face most of the time.

I was going to recommend the Shark Vancore earlier but it probably isn't what the OP wants.

I'm sure a mate had one where the chin bar was held on using two press studs either side - that was 40 years ago though and utterly useless in a crash.
Why not get a lid where the front section can hinge up over the top?
Go look at helmet suppliers website - the variety is endless.

Schuberth do a flip-up helmet assuming that is what you mean.
