As the title says....

Was out a run yesterday with instigator, wishaykillie and a few other folk (6 all in) and was pretty much event free till we where on the home stretch.

Me wishaykillie (Graeme) and another rider (Gordon) had come up to a set of road works.

In Graeme's words this is what happened as he was behind me:

We were at road works just before Airdrie, we were at the front of the traffic and pulled away. Colin accelerated and because we were behind the works convoy vehicle he had to pull on the front brake quite hard but his glove got tangled up on the throttle and the front locked and he hit the deck and the bike slid into the back of gordons GSXR 400 (who somehow managed to stay on !!!) and Colin bounced over onto the verge and slammed into the barrier quite hard.

TBH honest it was all over so quick I can't really remember much apart from my glove somehow getting tangled between the throttle and brake. All I remember is the bike shooting forward and me grabbing a big handful of brake. I had nowhere to go, cones to the left, kerb and barrier to the right and Gordon right in front of me. I hit Gordon's bike quite hard which pushed him out the way and also destroyed my front fairing.

It's mainly all cosmetic damage but it's a pisser all the same. I walked away with a grazed and lumpy right fore arm, a very sore right knee and when I woke up today, a very stiff neck and back. It's just starting to hit home now what actually happened.

Be safe kids, I've been riding through the winter so it wasn't not being on the bike that caused this, just an unfortunate incident. Also, gear up. my leathers no doubt saved several layers of skin, and my helmet done it's job as it crashed down on the road.

I'll post some pics tomorrow, I've only called into work to post and hand a doctors line in for a couple of days till the pain dies down. I'm off home for a lie down and maybe a few beers later Wink

Was going too quick to hit the kill switch, it would have done nothing really. Bit of a pisser but I think it's all cosmetic damage and I'm looking to get it all repair and back on the road in the next 2-3 weeks.

Cheers Graeme and Gordon for hanging about for an hour and odd till I got recovered.

Ta Sadie Thumbs Up

Will try to post pics tomorrow of the damage. If you or anyone you know is breaking a G1 or 2 model ZX6R please drop me a mail or PM. Look in my sig, these are the main parts I need ASAP. Was going to street fighter the bike but decided to rebuild it back to standard.

Well here's some damage pics. I've made a parts list on my sig.

Ste and GTi, I will get back to you's soon!

I'm holding back on buying parts just now as my mate is going to try and repair all the fairing panels to see how it looks and take it from there.

Up until the 3rd pic I was thinking 'Looks pretty much fine'... ooh dear. Confused At least you're already pissed off about being bikeless and wanting to get back on, that's always a good sign. Very Happy

Good luck with the parts.
