600 mile service...

Does this cost money?

It says in my Bandit hand book that after the first 600 miles it is needed for it's first service, my Dad says that it doesn't cost money, just thought i'd ask here for clarification.

Depends where you bought the bike from. A lot of places chuck it in free with the bike...

It is only an oil change and general checkover anyway.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Depends on the dealer. For my 1200 Bandit they charged for materials but not labour (from memory).

I believe it will cost you. Mine was about $90, if I remember correctly. Don't forget to save the paperwork! An accurate service history is a must when selling a bike in Britain, or so I'm told.
