Firstly i ride my bike to school. At my school there is parking all over the grounds, but us guys on bikes have to park outside on the road. Today at lunch i moved my bike from the road outside, to behind the leisure centre of my school.

Unluckily for me for head teacher was watching from his office, and came down while we were parking. Once we had taken our bikes off 'school property' we went to his office for a bollocking. he claimed that we were driving dangerously and speeding. he then went on the say how he had just got back from court where he had just suspended a couple of car drivers for a similar offence.

After he said that he was so angry that he was unable to deal with it, so i have to see my head of house in the morning.

I'm not worried about any internal punishments, e.g. detentions ect. But people have been saying that he will get the police involved.

I was thinking how he would do this, as he "saw" us speeding from a second floor office some distance away, but cant actually tell what speed we were doing.

btw i was going about 15 mph in a 5 mph

well if there is no proof there is no case! he is not a cop and does not have any speed recording devices, I suggest you hook him up with a woman for a night Wink he wont be interested in you speeding for a while and you can carry on SPEEDING at an insane 15mph be careful you don't highside or spin the rear tyre up though Dance!

Speed limits on private grounds aren't enforceable by law. Give him a Middle Finger and tell him to swivel on it.

As far as I'm aware he's got no case. I believe the police will need two independant complaints to take action.

There is no way they can prosecute you for speeding without getting an accurate reading of your speed.

Hi

As above, it is private ground and the speed limit is not legally enforceable. All he can do is give you internal punishments to the school.

The police would probably just laugh at him.

All the best

Sounds like Adolf is not getting any at home. He may be a magistrate, but has no more power than you do outside the court. Most he can do, as headmaster, is attempt to ban the riding of motorcycles on school grounds. As far as police involvement is concerned, he might invite a couple to have a chat with you to explain the dangers of doing 15mph in a 5mph zone.

spot on. best not to antagonise these people tho, could end up on the worse end of the stick.

end of the day, it sounds like he has no evidence to even think of getting the pigs involved. Hollow threats to get you to shit your pants a bit.

He did once try to ban anybody from riding to school, but most ignored him and he couldnt enforce it anyway. We arent aloud to go on the school ground anyway, although in the holidays a couple of months ago i had to go into school to do some tech work, i had fun speeding through the road going straight through the school Twisted Evil

Thats alot of relief to me then, thanks guys.

i just have to accept any punishments i get then. i have already told my dad, so they cant threaten me with phoning home, and we only have a half day at school, but the bus doesnt turn up for another 1 hr 30mins after so ill probably still be able to get the bus Very Happy

in all honesty what can he do? I would still ride to school and lock my bike up he can't physically stop you from riding and if thats your only form of transport then that alone should be enough. I live right accross the road from a high school and when the kids drive out of the dirt car park you don't want to be standing around because these kids are all for trying to slide their cars out onto the road to impress their mates and terrify mothers walking with their younger children. I did call the school and theres nothing they can do about it! so called the cops and they put a speed camera down the road! it's pathetic what happens and even more pathetic that theres nothing we can do or anybody else can really do!

Surprised

Our school are quite the opposite, they're actually quite supportive. Last week my mirrors got pinched whilst it was parked in the leisure centre car park, and the school are paying for the replacements! Thumbs Up

Keep on parking on the road, as long as it's not on school ground what can he do? Don't let people like him put you off..

Can students drive cars to school?
If they can you are being discriminated against because you ride a bike.
If this is the case go to the local paper and the school will probably change their mind. You could even e-mail MCN for their opinions.

And if you hold a valid driving licence and pay road tax you are entitled to ride on the roads. The local authorities pay for the upkeep of the school including the roads.......so you are infact paying for them (unless you go to a private school).

And another thing.......why are you different from the teachers? You have a licence same as them so if you can't ride onto school grounds and park why should they?

Make a stand against the headmaster.......make a name for yourself.........but don't ride like a twat on the school grounds until you win.

yes you are right they are the opposite. My headteacher said that people on mopeds are only learners, riding around with our bike with little engines are the lowest of the low on the roads. Therefore we should have no parking right on the school property. Quite stupid as we were all parked on a path and grass, not being used by other motorists locked to a lamp post.

Sickening. Sounds like a right miserable ole' git... Evil or Very Mad

Gotta start somewhere, why not a ped? At lease you get a basic knowledge of the way the roads work, rather than getting straight on a car/big bike and taking it all in at once.

The man is obviously an idiot. Having worked in a school for over 10 years I know a bit about head teachers and how riduculous some of them can be.

I've also noticed that they like to be seen to have a certain social standing in with the local community and liking for attention. I would definately get a local paper involved or some kind or local press. It's almost like a cross to a vampire.

Good luck.

VTR has a point = embarrass the shit out of your head by addressing MCN and AS MANY BIKE MAGS about the case. If you want it to be, it can be a case of discrimation and get him done for it - tell him to watch his fuckin mouth, otherwise he'd get a bunch of grown up bikers tearing shit on his "PRIVATE PROPERTY" - seeing that speeding on school grounds is not enforceable by law, buzz up some 600cc mates and tell them to treat the grounds like as if it were the Ace or Chelsea Bridge or something Thumbs Up Twisted Evil Middle Finger .

I conciously speed in my college grounds as i feel that there is no point doing 5mph when no students are around. On CCTV etc - Since the various CCTV posts are focusing on the car park, i'm pretty sure they see me do my "morning unicycle routine".

AFAIK it's off the road and therfore does not follow the jurisdictions of the highway code. Thumbs Up (Still, they can give you detention though Razz , whereupon you insist he sniffs your 2 stroke)

Complain about your head teacher (if a public school) to higher levels. This is discrimination against riders. I would screw him over if I was you. He would do they same if he was in your shoes.

What I find incredibly annoying is that when I was at secondary school last year and rode my ped the teachers were dickheads about it, and in general especially as you move into year 10, 11 the teachers seem to be always against you. But now I'm at college (its about 500 metres away) the teachers are brilliant you learn a lot more and they are I suppose more supportive than previous teachers I’ve had. I don't know whether its that the college is of a higher standard than the school but there is a clear difference. Anyways don't worry bout it! Thumbs Up just get on with it I assume your in year 11 so not long to go!!!

Ask if you can have their parking spaces.

He's being a to**er really!! Theres no reason to stop you parking in school grounds, and possibly an argument for a sort of discrimination by forcing you NOT to park on school grounds when cars can.

Anyway, isnt the lowest enforcable speed limit 10mph? or is that something iv imagined from somewhere?

my ld school banned bikes n the grounds after a pupil was hit by a parent,it turned out the guy's insurance company wouldn't pay out as he was on private ground so the school banned them (if the insurance company can get out of paying i wouldn't worry about a little speeding)

Sounds like a "power freak" to me. Just be thankful he isn`t able to wield the cane on your bottom.

And there is nothing he can do (police wise) apart from discipline you internally.

So yeagh , what they said.
