Or you could have something visual, like a light.

In case anyone is interested, which I doubt, it turns out that on my Fazer the lights do NOT stay on after the key removed even if the switch is left in the 'on' position. What was causing my lights to stay on and my battery to drain was I was turning the key one click too far when doing the steering lock. I didn't realise there was a parking lights position on the barrel so was going all the way round with the key as far as it would go before removing it.

Durrr!!!

Anyone want to buy a NC automotive relay and a 12v buzzer???!!!

Are you a bit simple? Most bikes built in the last 40 years have a parking light setting at one end or the other of the ignition switch travel. Easily spotted by the lights being on when you walk off holding the key. I know your probably busy thinking about minecraft and taking your Paxil but it only takes a second to look back at the bike when you walk away.

I suppose you might leave them on by accident outside on a bright day.

Indeed. I have done this. Twice accidentally taking the key out whilst it was in the Park position. What a tool.

Don't be too hard on the guy, I did the same thing when I got my Fazer (parking lights). Easy to not notice when it's daylight and you're not used to a new bike
