I check my chain when I change the rear tyre. I don't lube it at all for I too have a scotoiler I have not had to adjust it for the last 8,000 miles .
Otherwise it all depends on the weather and how you are riding. Best bet is to look at the chain before getting on the bike. You can see when it is running dry of lube. Giving it a prod with your toe gives you a good idea of how much slack there is. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

I tend to check it more or less every ride. Since I've stopped using Castrol Chain wax , and moved to 3 in 1 Chain Lube, I've found the chain stays flexible and stops 'stretching' so much. I've not had to adjust it since Christmas, since I stopped using the wax infact.
Plug.
I think part of the problem was I was adjusting it to too little slack to begin with too though. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Used to ignore it completely, then it snapped and took a nice chunk of the crankcase with it, now i check it every 200~ miles and lube it after it rains. ____________________ is that it |
