Crying or Very sad

I assume you mean out of Streatley, rather than Goring - that is Streatley Hill, number 24 in the list of 100 best climbs in the UK. Iíve done it a few times with a full complement of gears, although only needing the granny ring and gear - itís a tough climb!

Good bodge work too, shows the benefits of carrying some tools. Thumbs Up

You'll carry a spare mech hanger now. Laughing

yeah Streatley hill. I attacked it, I was going to fly up it, I giggled as I passed the cyclists walking.

I got halfway up and thought this is tougher than I remember, it's like a mini Wrynose Pass. Then I had doubts that I'd make it after all, and then I started to think I'd have to get off and walk too then I dropped down more gears just before the private driveway, and then fell off.

I think that's a good idea. I had three inner tubes. Maybe two inner tubes and a hanger next time.

Itís a bastard climb; that private driveway is such a tempting place to bail out just as it ramps up for the final section. Iíve done it on MTB, road bike and gravel bike - my road bike is not really geared for it and I was a little bit sick in my mouth at the top.
