1978 CB250N Superdream - Coil earthed to frame?

Hi there, simple question. I want to relocate my coil to another part of the bike (not neccessarily the frame) to accommodate a custom fuel tank. Is it neccessary to bolt the coil back to the frame for an earth or is this just a housing?

Both ends of the laminate bar need connecting to frame really. It probably forms part of a flux circuit. You might get away with only one end, or no ends connected but it might not last too long.

Yes. While you're at it, clean up all of the contacts and give them a smear of grease. Always lots of corrosion in that area.
