Speaking as a current GSX-R owner, I was disappointed with the new GSX-R1000 when I saw it up close.

The exhaust is incredibly ugly, as is the tail-fairing unit. I also intensely dislike the indicators being built in to the mirrors; okay, it's practical for track-day enthusiasts (easy to remove) but they look awful.

If the 750 and 600 machines follow suit in 2006-2007, I won't be buying one.

Thumbs Down

I'd happily buy a K4 though - very nice Thumbs Up

The exhaust is very different, but it doesnt look that bad.

Was reading about it in Performance Bikes. The light trick inside the can is quite cool. Makes it look like a blue LED is in there, very strange. Personally, if I was to buy the gixxer, a normal looking replacement can would be in order. Razz

it is a bit ugly that pipe, but the emissions regs means catalytic convertors so i guess we can put up with it
