The one on the right has to be at least three times better! And red makes things faster... fact!

That red coloured plug looks as though it is a longer reach item and may well protrude further into the combustion chamber than the NGK item.I would be wary about fitting the red plug and it hitting the piston crown.

The multi earth electrodes mean that the red plug will last a lot longer, but the flame travel may well also be shielded.

Is the red plug supposed to be a direct replacement for the NGK plug?

Using the word "Fact" at the end of a sentence is not wise.

KLG 3-point, innit. Not detachable though, so it's carp.

Bit of a pain to gap, though.

Flush it down the bog Wink

Sometimes it's worth injecting a little levity into proceedings Wink

I think that the washer has tricked you by sitting a little lower on the nkg one, making the threaded bit look shorter.

Chinese pit bike plug I assume.

It may be fitted with three electrodes but it will probably only come out with one.

It was thrown in as a freebie with the replacement coil I bought although how it's economical to give away such valuable things is beyond me!

The pinnacle of convenience: "confused by spark gaps? not to worry, we've taken that burden away from you..."

Three electrode plugs used to be very common in the days of yore. The original ones could be dismantled to be cleaned and repacked to ensure a seal. Mr. Green

Some BMW oilheads use a twin electrode plug (that's the recommended part anyway). There's nothing wrong with them at all.

Totally awesome until it fails unexpectedly and leaves you stranded by the side of the road. NGK, champion, Bosch or Denso. Anything else, bin. Personally I won't touch anything but NGK for bikes, and there are even really good fakes out there.

That is a matter of fact.

Yes, I could see there might be cheap plugs about where they swap the iridium for graphite and one of the side electrodes pings off at random and dances a little jig atop your piston.

Not this one though, it's red Smile

Seriously though, someone went to a great deal of effort to make it look the part. Red porcelain, gun metal tint and fuck knows what those two black rings are painted on for!

There’s even fake NGK plugs on eBay. Fact!

Yes, but what I can't understand is why fake products are sold for much, much less than the genuine item. Surely the point would be to sell close to the proper price and make a fat margin.

Totally agree. It’s like saying: Hey, buy me I’m so much cheaper, but I’ll self destruct your engine once you’ve forgotten where you bought me!

I’ll only buy plugs, NGK/Champion from reputable companies over the counter.
