I did some measurements on the switch in the left hand brake(rear brake), carried out an oil change and now when I turn my bike on I can hear the fuel pump cycling but the whole instrument cluster is dead / non responsive. Have I blown a fuse, where do I find the fuses ? Where is the battery ?
what is the red plug under the seat with nothing plugged into it?
thanks
Gavin

To help others should they search on this criteria, the solution was as follows:
I modified the switch that detects if the rear brake is pulled in sufficiently so that I do not have to apply so much pressure when starting. Honda have gone to massive lengths on this switch to ensure no one tampers with it. Basically if you cut the little plastic protrusion from switch that butts up against the brake lever shorter it exposes a tiny copper wire inside that then shorts out a 10A fuse on the bike rendering it dead. You will then go around in a loop trying to work out where this short is coming from. I opened the switch to remove the copper wire from the plastic bit and the switch has been constructed in such a way that unless you have x10 hands and super high coordination skills you will not be able to put this thing together again, they even keyed the little plastic shaft of the switch so that if you do not align it 100%, it then gets stuck and does not work properly. I am gob smacked at what lengths Honda have gone to with this switch.
What are these mini fuses called ?

Did you fuck it up yourself after you were told that's how it's supposed to work?

yes, I modified it so that I did not have to use brute force on the brake to get it to start, which was ridiculous in my view, however Honda know the owners will attempt this and put multiple obstacles in the way. I hope my findings help someone else if they want to get around it. Concepts like this get deployed because stupid people(Darwin awards) start their bikes with the throttle wide open and end up in some unexpected place and get killed.

Are they as stupid as the people who fuck their bikes up whilst trying to bypass these systems?
