Hi - this post got swallowed yesterday, so I thought I would resubmit it.

As many of you have been following with varied levels of interest, I have been working on my crash damaged TT600 for some time. I had stalled somewhat on the last few tasks, many of which I achieved yesterday.

These were:

Arrow Fix coolant leak

Arrow mount clocks

Arrow mount indicators

Arrow move headlights down on the forks

So, now my bike looks like that robot thing from the film 'Short Circuit'. Smile

I still have yet to sort out all of the loose wires, and I was planning all along to cut them back and re connect them, but they are so well interconnected that I think I may just cable tie them out of the way somewhere. As long as they do not interfere with the steering I don't mind. Oh, and the clocks are held on by honest to goodness screws rather than just a cable tie! Very Happy

Here is a pic of the coolant expansion tank that I wish to remove. I think replacing it with some other suitable container and repositioning it somewhere would be the best plan.

I know I keep saying it, but here is a picture of the *almost* finished article!

Good, thanks for that intelligent, thought provoking and witty post. In case you missed it, the aim was to get the bike on the road with as little money as possible - not to make the bike look tarty.

I'm actually glad that someone thinks it looks bad! Very Happy

It's cute - give it a smile. It'll be a cuddly streetfighter. Would you have found a way to put renthal bars on without altering the top yoke? If you had that + a mountain bike speedo, it'll look brutal. I would say errm, make a clay mould and find a place that does thermoplatic vacuum forming and you can use that to house the clocs and the unecessary wiring that comes with it. It can help conceal the brackets you've got on for the lights to make it look tidier? But that would make it like a speed 4 instead. Anyway, hope we'll see it on the road soon.

Robby told me to go for an eight inch round single chrome headlight!

TBH I don't care what it looks like, I just want it to go round corners without slinging me off!

Like it! My little but is that i think it needs a small black flyscreen over the top of the lights, and to cover the fairly ugly manufacturers clocks to an extent. Im thinking maybe a flyscreen simlar to what the Buell XB9/12 have, would be the finishing touch!

I wouldn't worry about re-locating the expansion tank unless there is a specific reason that it needs to be moved for. A naked streetfighter is designed to have an ugly engine with all pipes and wires around it. Maybe you could spray the tank black to match the motor though?

MarJ, dunno if you might have mentioned in another thread or not, but are you going to be fitting fairings to that? I don't think you should looks cool in a speed triple kind of way. Cool Smile

I love those lights.

Agreed with just spraying the collant tank black, and a little iridium flyscreen to tidy everything/hide a few things behind and it'll be lovely.
