Scratches

I'm selling the scooter, hoping never to ride it again after taking it in for servicing.

There's some scratches on the front fairing though, can I ask for some advice on how to deal with them in a cost effective way?

The scratches are from our stone drive wall so they are not really bad, but they show a lot on black.

Is there some product that I can buy to fill the scratches rather than taking it to a dealership for retouch? I've researched a bit but I have no idea what is good and what is shit, anyone used anything like that? Pens or else?

It's a black 2016 Honda PCX125. No pictures of scratches as it's pissing down now and I'm not getting the cover off today.

Wouldn't stress too much to be honest: the bikes probably going to be purchased by a brand new rider that wont lock it up and then will get stolen. Doom and gloom, I know, but the PCX is a popular scrote choice.

Just be honest when listing or having someone view it. Doubt it would effect sale value on such a bike by too much but anyone looking to try their luck.

Comes across that you can't wait to get rid of it, though?

Ignoring them is the most cost effective way of dealing with the scratches.

It's a learner 125 so people almost expect them to have at least a few scratches on them.

Spend money getting them repaired or touched up by a garage and it will cot you more than it increases the value by. Everything else would look like a cheapo attempt to cover up some scratches and so is of zero benefit.

Agree with grr on this one. Black Sharpie and mention them in any advert.

If the buyer wants to repair them properly they can discuss with you when it comes to the purchase price.

I'd knock 20-30 quid off if they were funny about them.

I have a tiny scuff on my frame that I tidy up with a sharpie. Really got to scan for it when it's freshly blackened.

Sometimes the effort involved in doing it "properly" isnt worth the final result.

Personally i like the scratches on my bikes, they tell a story.

edit: if you wanted to compromise - you could use hamerite black paint.
