The b/w is an earth. Just connect it to the frame or the battery negative. If you follow the wire down, you will see it is connected to the battery negative.

The O/B is the sense wire. This connects to somewhere in the loom that has power going to it when the ignition is switched 'ON'. Could be anywhere you like. On your bike the main power in the loom travels along orange wires so connect in anywhere there is an orange. Assuming your reg/reg is somewhere under the saddle, connecting in with the orange wire going to the rear brake switch or the orange wire going to the indicator relay would make sense. Crimp both wires into the same spade terminal and attach to the switch/relay as normal.

Put simply, the O/B connects to the orange, the orange also connects to the flasher relay so it would make sense to connect the O/B to the orange as it attaches to the relay. (shorter wire because it is close to the reg/rec and using a terminal that already exists thus avoiding cutting any existing wires).

The 'sense' wire on a reg/rec monitors how much power is in the loom itself (taking account of the drop in voltage when a bulb comes on for example) so it can more accuratley determine how much power to send to the battery. It would work ok if you just connected the O/B wire directly to the battery positive or loop it back to the red wire on the reg/rec but this is not how it was designed to work.

Chances are it was originally designed to connect to the flasher relay.

Suzuki usually use white on black for earth, yellow for alternator phases, orange for switched supply voltage and red for charging voltage.

Incidentally, the reg/rec will not stop your bike from starting, it should make its own spark. My tip is to go on MS paint and draw out the bits of the wiring you are interested in using colour.

The ignition system of this bike is very simple, the lights are not. The factory wiring diagram is designed to take up as little space as possible and as such the conections shown bear no relationship to where they actually happen on the bike.

I have drawn you a picture of the ignition wiring. If there is no spark, something is wrong with one of these componants or the connections between them. The rest of the wiring is just there to make the lights work.

Thumbs Up Thanks alot for your help, very much appreciated.
Actually i only have the reg/rec, magneto, cdi unit and the ignit coil. But im putting in switches and hopefully it will work.
So are you saying i dont actually need the reg/rec to produce a spark?
Thanks again

Shouldn't do, I can see nowhere on your bike where the charging system meets up with the ignition system (other than shared earth points). If you look carefully at the drawing of the magneto, you should see a seperate coil to power up the CDI, this sends power up to the CDI along the black on red wire. The two wires from the pickup coil tell it when to spark and it sends the power for the spark along the white and blue. The second black on red is to earth the spark when you switch off.

The switches are only there to switch the bike off. If you wire it all up but miss out the switches, it should make a spark. If the engine happened to fire up at this point, you would need to stall it or remove the plug cap to stop it though
