Does anyone know how to replace the main bulb in my zsx? I can access it from the front and it just seems over complicated to get to it from behind. I'm sure I'm missing something really simple :/

Is this it? If so, there should be a place on the back where the bulb goes, if not, then the headlight must go off, to replace the bulb.

There's currently no requirement for bulbs to be roadside accessible and it may well be a complete ball ache to get at.

InB4 "you're meant to just throw the bike away when the bulb goes". Such humour, very jokefresh.

That's the bike, and there is a rubber bubble on the back, but no visible or easily accessible way of removing it

What's the box by the for leg on the front for?, never noticed before.

Phone a local lexmoto shop and ask them?.. Inb4 "you need to bring it to us m8", silly idea.

Well, it won't be a tool box, it'd be stupid to put extra weight there, maybe it contains a piece of paper with your blood type, whether you are allergic to anything and the last will and testament. Thinking

OP, what's in the secret box?

You get that from google?.. could be a pre-final model picture is all as it's not on the pictures on the lexmoto website.

I know nothing about your particular bike so everything I'm about to post is based on guesswork and could be absolute bollocks.
From your description, I reckon that the 'rubber bubble' you mention could be a watertight seal that's removable by pulling on a lug that should be moulded onto it's outer edge. Once the 'rubber bubble' is removed you should have access to the headlight bulb.

I think it's a label added by the maker in promo shots then photo shopped black by lexmoto.

I looked on Zongshen website and couldn't spot it on any actual bike listings then I noticed a banner ad at the top with a red version with their branding on it. Zooming in it appeared to be cable tied on.

The Zone R appears to be red.

I've only just got the bloody thing BACK from a lexmoto dealer. He told me I'd need to replace the bulb, then gave me the keys and fucked off.

For the time being I have two options. Blind everyone with my high beam while I wait for payday, or I walk to work.

Do you not just get the rubber thing off somehow? Are there any metal clips running along it's edge?

Honestly it can't be that hard. Just have a good look at it and play around with it.

You'd expect anything better from any other dealer or marque?

Bulbs are consumables, they need replaced.

If you provide some pictures, we might be able to suggest something. It might be fiddly but it's not going to be rocket science.

Try twisting it, try prying one side up, try other stuff and keep trying more stuff until you've figured it out. Wink

Having to go to a dealer to get a bulb changed is very not cool. Laughing

It's good preparation for owning a BMW Harley though.

So the bulb I bought from the only other motorcycle dealer in my town was the wrong one. Suppose I should inform him that not all chinese bikes are the same.

This is the bulb I can buy through Lexmoto themselves: https://www.lexmoto.co.uk/ZS125-48A_parts_BULB026.php

Would this one from halfords fit? It looks identical and seems to be the same wattage: https://www.halfords.com/motoring/motorcycling/motorcycle-parts/halfords-bike-it-motorcycle-bulb-hmb472-12v-60-55w

If you have found a way to get your bulb in the headlight then you can check what bulb you need Smile As stated if you still do not know pictures so we can assist or ask the dealer how he did it?

Thread isn't complete without an answer as to how it's done, otherwise we'll find ourselves in years to come with that very question. Rolling Eyes

I own a Lexmoto ZSX R/F 125cc, and i believe my main headlight needs changing cause it's extremely dim bearly on compared to the brightness it was when i first got the bike.

Anyone know how i am meant to change the bulb weather i have to take the complete front of the bike apart to do it or if there's a simple easy method.

Thanks

holy necro, batman.

Bulbs don't wear out. They either work or don't work. If it's not as bright as it used to be the fault will be elsewhere.
