Hallo everybody,
I have a cg125 es4 with the stupid PAIR valve, this piece of genius design (please ladle on gallons of sarcasm) has resulted in both valve seat and valve to be burnt black as night. Valves are a ridiculous price for these engines and they'll just end up the same as the current one.
My question.....
Can you replace the es4 head with an earlier model, one without the crappy PAIR valve?
Cheers
Drew

Corrupt me if I'm wrong but a PAIR or passive air injection valve allows clean air into the exhaust just after the valve to burn off hydrocarbons in order to satisfy emission standards.
One of my lads had CG clone with one and I just made a plate and blanked it off at the head and pipe.
The bike ran fine, good plug colour too.

Just blank the fecker off and check the plug colour after a wee while to see if you need to rejet/modify anything

Many people just shove a marble/ball bearing up the PAIR intake pipe so it can't breathe.

Sounds as though it's running a bit rich. Why do you think it's the PAIR valve's fault? Are the valves actually damaged?

The valve is shagged the valve seat needs recutting, yes I can blank it off BUT
Can I use an earlier head instead of repairing current one?

That's all I need to know.

Isn't this the same numpty that grinds off half his brake pads to 'decrease rolling friction'?

I'd suggest what you actually need to know is why your valve and seat are burned because it's not because of the PAIR valve.

Until you work that out, any new head could go the same way.

Holy shit, CG125 exhaust valves are expensive! I can get plasma nitride race valves for my enfield for less than that.

He's a first class fuckwit without a clue. It was funny when he binned it on a 125 though.

There's a lot of reports of exhaust valve burning due to PAIR valves.
Can someone just answer my question.
CAN I FIT AN EARLY MODEL HEAD TO AN ES7 BARREL? YES OR NO?

Eh? Speak up. Some of us are knocking on a bit and our hearing isn't what it used to be.

If you can find the parts lists, see if the head gasket is the same part number. If it is, there is a very good chance it'll fit.

I don't know. You are probably better asking on a specialist forum if there is some such animal.

Oh. you could ask Tef. He might not know but he'll still give you an answer. Whistle
