Just been flicking through fb marketplace and a bike caught my eye. The number plate was visible in the picks so I thought I'd run it through Vehicle Smart.
It showed up a small negative mileage discrepancy from one mot to the next a few years back, around 70 miles or so.
I asked the seller for an explanation and he just said the tester had made a mistake.
Is this a regular occurrence in your experience and would you be bothered as the buyer or would it set alarm bells ringing for you?

I've had an MOT station put the wrong mileage in a car I had. I didn't even notice till I came to sell it.

Was just a mistake.

Yup, had MOT tester goof the mileage a couple of times. It does happen, usually *100 turns into *700 in my experience.

1000s of miles? Maybe. 70 miles. It's a typo.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
