Brakes sticking

The front brakes on my bike were starting to rub so I took the front caliper off to inspect the pads, worn and in need of replacing but still a satisfying amount of pad left to last me at least a few weeks.

I put them back but when I spin the wheel the brakes don't seem to retract they're not seized as they go from being really tight when I apply the brakes to heavy rubbing when I remove them.

Copper grease on the moving parts; especially the pin holding the pads, may well help.

There is argument whether you should use copper grease or go to the extra effort to get rubber-grease for the pistons.

Remove the pads, pump the pistons out a bit and clean them up with brake fluid. And like above, lots of grease helps. If it is a sliding caliper remember to clean out the rubber boots and pack them with grease, that should sort it out.

I gave them a clean but unfortuantly the piston came out and all the brake fluid pissed everywhere luckly no paint was lost other than some from a screwdriver head.
Is it as simple as just topping the fluid up again and leaving it overnight with the leaver zip tied in to bleed it?

Bleeding isnt difficult, even I can do it and ive broken a fair few things in the past.
