Hello,

I've made my way back to the forums after a fairly lengthy hiatus. I was last here whilst I was doing my full license about 8 years ago.

Over the last 8 Years I've had a few bikes, but struggled to keep with the hobby usually selling my bike and going without one for a year or so before buying another.

I have had a bike in the garage consistently for about 2 years now and cant imagine not having one. I have recently purchased my first new motorcycle and am hopelessly in love with it. I've always had an affinity with motorcycling but it seems to have gotten a lot stronger with age.

Anyway, Hello again, I'm hoping to be around for a while this time, keen to get out and about, clock some miles up

Obligatory "my new bike" photos

That is a beauty, I am keen on buying one but not sure how I can (a) convince missus om that I need a third bike and can afford a second new one this year (b) get it in the garage.
You have inspired me to persevere.

Enjoy it, it looks great.

Nice bike. I really like these, but they are a bit outside my budget.

Uninteresting fact, my 9 year old son caught me looking at Fazers the other day (not a euphemism) and said ‘oh no please don’t get a Fazer they are disgusting, get a proper motorbike’.

‘What’s a proper motorbike then?’ I enquired.

He points to a listing for an RE Interceptor; ‘That, that’s a proper motorbike. Get one of them.’

So there you go, my 9 year old thinks you’re cooler than me.

Cool looking retro machine! I recently found out how much fun ''small'' retro bikes can be. I got a XBR 500, kick starting it only. Cool

They look great and a huge improvement technically on the Bullet era stuff from what I gather.

Thanks for the replies, I am enjoying the bike immensely.

Doesn't garner quite as much attention as the battle green classic 500 did, but in my opinion that's a good thing Very Happy

Cheers

Why, did you miss me Laughing Laughing

As to the bike, fine choice, well over 4000 miles on mine now, rides lovely..

Here's mine, from Saturday, and, just for you Easy, in the background is the nipper's Superlight, as she's now 17, it was her first ride out on the road on a 125, having spent 12 months on the Mash 50. next, just got to get rid of her L's, which she's working towards, theory already done, and mod 1 booked.

I've added a rear rack, top box, pannier mounts, got the touring seat, put fork gaiters on, I've also got a bash plate that I might fit at some point.

Still needs moar Craven luggage.

I note their website says they're developing a lowline pannier for the Interceptor, because the upswept exhaust makes the standard boxes sit a little high.
