License points full bike license new car driver

Picked up a TS10 a few weeks ago, had a full bike license for 6 or 7 years now. 3 points and £100 fine or a shitty RIDE course a billion miles away from where I live.

Now, I don't have a car license (Never bothered but need to do it soon) I know this question has been banded about before.... I realise that you have ONE license so three points is three points. When you pass your test you have two years and 6 points to 'play with' or you lose your license and start again.

Let's say I pick up another 3 points in the car within the two year period. Do I lose my license altogether or do I just lose my 'car' license and still be able to ride the bike (since I technically have 6 points left to play with on that)

Ah, disregard. Found out after using Google-Fu. Rules are now that probationary period is from date of your first full test (bike OR car regardless) so subsequently passing another test does not 'reset' the counter.

Fuck it then, 3 points it is.

No, I was actually trying to do something safe and in the act did something unsafe. Came to a set of lights in the city centre at a large junction to turn right which were on green on approach. Pedestrian crossing on the right where tourists are well known to hop out so had my eyes fixed on the squishies stood there and unbeknown to me the lights changed under me as I was going through. Most unfortunate that plod were doing an 'operation' on that set of lights that day and nabbed me. No defense, bang to rights. Meh.

You have my sympathies as one who often sees pedestrians chancing their arm at crossings in the aforementioned manner up town.

Faced with such a situation I might slow down a bit and hope, in turn, the peds will speed up

Seriously though if the path ahead is not clear you're not even meant to attempt the turn. However sticking with the highway code in London is a recipe for a ramming from an irate mini-cab driver I've been tooted plenty of times just waiting for peds to cross on flashing amber lights for normal crossings!

No, they give you a list of forces and which company they use. If you were prosecuted by Force x you have to go to company y. In my case, North Yorkshire...TTC (Or whatever) in Telford. Fucking Telford, 3 and a half hours away.
