Hi all. If running an alarm and tracker at same time eg s4 alarm and biketrac tracker would you need to charge if leaving bike for say a few days? I've had alarm only in the past on 600cc+ bikes which have been OK sitting for 3 weeks but wondering about alarm and tracker combo

Cheers

<datatool>shudders</datatool>

My opinion:

Depends on the age, and condition, of the battery. Providing its all good then I wouldn't -- based on it sitting for "a few days: less than a week;" but that also depends on if the bike gets rode regularly for decent enough mileage to keep it charging.

Resist the urge to keep starting it.

Based on it sitting for a few weeks I'd put it on charge simply because of the Datatool alone. If your battery is hard to get to then you can get devices that hook up to the battery that you leave on the bike allowing a charger to be plugged in making the whole task a lot simpler.

Can't comment on Biketrac but I'd say the Datatool is more likely to eat the battery. Alarm? Not an immobiliser too?

Edit: also depends on how its stored and what bike it is -- various models take cold starts differently.

In the winter my bikes battery loses significant power over a week and more than a week ive had to put the battery on charge. I have a biketrac installed. The summer is not so bad.
