I bought a new visor from these people. Description said Pinlock visor. Picture of a Pinlock visor. Specifically wanted a pinlock one because winter coming on and I have a new insert to go in it.

Visor turned up and it's not pinlock fitting, just a cheap plain visor with anti-fog coating. So I fired in a complaint email and they came back with 'oh it's an example pic and might be different'. Then I pointed out that the description actually said 'pinlock visor' so they agreed to replace it with a pinlock one and sent me a returns note. They also changed the pic and removed 'pinlock' from the description (but not before I saved the page, thankfully).

I thought that was decent enough so I sent it back and instead of replacing it they refunded me the cost of the visor less the postage.

After another complaint they finally refunded the postage too but I'm sure that it's only because they know I would have gone via Paypal and got it anyway, plus I had saved the page where it clearly described the visor as 'pinlock'

Even now they say that I should have known that it was not pinlock because it says 'anti-fog' on the page. Well what the hell is Pinlock if it's not an anti-fog system?

TL/DR - avoid FC Moto. Buy your stuff somewhere else.

I've bought stuff from them plenty of times and it's been fine. You get a good service, very good prices and they have a range of stuff you can't normally get in UK places.

Downside? If we ever do actually leave the EU they won't be cheap any more. I expect they are doing a mad rush to try to promote stuff in the UK while we're dithering.

Well this is the first thing I bought so for me it's 100% negative.
If they had done what they said they would do, just said 'sorry our bad' and sent what I wanted, that would have been perfectly fine. I even offered to pay any difference in price.

As it is guy is still sending me emails arguing that I should have known it's anti-fog coated not pinlock because it says 'clear anti-fog', next to a picture of a pinlock visor, despite it actually saying pinlock in the description.

It's not the mistake - it's the total mess they have made of putting it right.

They don't know what trademarks are. The HJC IS-17 Shapy comes with a Skipfog insert, which is NOT a pinlock, irrespective of looks. It is similar, and it works to be fair, but it's not a Pinlock, nor is it advertised as one. I know as I opened it after buying it and was all WTF? when I pulled it out. Works well enough to be fair.

Edit - This.

I'm not even sure if you can get an actual Pinlock visor for it, however, the pins look close enough that a pinlock insert may fit it.

They should have covered the cost of postage as the description was wrong.

I've used them before for a couple of things. Both helmets and visors (and a pinlock as it happens) and they were fine.

My dad bought a tankbag off them and they fucked him about for 3 weeks then finally sent him the wrong one (strap-on rather than magnetic).

So mixed bag.

I'm amazed really because classically, German people have absolutely zero tolerance for crap service and make an enormous fuss when it happens.

I've spent about €1800 with them over the years and have no complaints. They've been reliable, and in many cases cheaper than other outlets.
