Walking wellies.

My donkeys years old boots are due for retirement so I'm looking for recommendations that are comfortable for the daily dag walk.

not too sure if this is what you want, but when I go hiking I use these landrover big hiking shoes (sort of like proper hiking wellies, but are good enough to be used on your bike as well)

they have been ok for the last year, look a bit brown as covered in crap, but still have not collapsed (like my last pair)

Mammut are what I use for long haul slogs. Up to 60mile hikes in them, and scrambling in the lake district too.

Stupidly expensive though.

Re. Hiking boots on a bike, I avoid laces after once snagging the lever/foot peg. I didn't realise one foot was effectively tied to the bike until I approached a zebra-crossing. After a moment of "WTF!?", leg-thrashing and slow-speed wobbling I had to let the clutch out and weave past the little old lady on the crossing. She turned out to have the vocabulary of a navvy, which was fair enough.

I have a pair, and they are something like 17 years old now, and they are fantastic. They have been refurbed once, but other than a polish and regular sets of laces they have been great.

Muck Boots. I've got the Edgewater tall boots, putting them on feels like putting your foot in to a sheep.

Actual wellies?

I wear wellies for a prolonged period on a daily basis as part of my work and have to walk about in them without wrecking my feet.

I like Dickies Landmasters but they are getting tricky to get from my suppliers. I used to do field-walking to inspect crops in these (so tens of miles every day).

Dunlop Purofort with the red neoprene lining are also ok (non steel cap, the steelies are really heavy, H&S insist I wear these now but I prefer the other ones)) . Some people (me included) get a lot of discomfort in their achillies tendon/heel with these but it's not the welly, it's the insole. Get ones that fit with the insole removed.

I've never tried Noras but some colleagues swear by them.

I have a pair of Rockfall RF290 for work.

They have a fibreglass toe cap so no where near as heavy as steelies but they are warm and comfortable.
