 |

So.... Here's the challenge. I'm inventing something, CBR engine is the prototype workhorse, and I'm utilising the timing cover as part of it.

"The big one" is what I'm talking about.
So... In my wisdom, at the prototype stage, I threw out the old one because it was useless innit.
Does anyone know what the thread size and pitch is? ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!

If no cap what`s the diameter of the threaded hole in the casing (say 30mm) and the pitch of the thread there (say 1mm , 1.25mm).
The depth is the casing thread.
A power take off on the crank? |

I hope that whatever's driving that sprocket had a left hand thread, coz otherwise it's going to un-do itself.
Anyway, measure the pitch with a ruler over as many threads as you can, then add it to the ID then round up to the next whole number, and that's the thread size. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Remove timing cover, add collar, insert shaft (oo-err!) with cog, attach to water pump previously stowed on the back of the bike. I'm getting some "save lives in the Third-World" vibes ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

I was after more along the lines of if someone knew off the top of their head as I don't have the engine in front of me for a while. I'm well aware of how to size threads if I have them. It'll be an M30xSomething. Probably 2 or 1.5 as mentioned, but I'm doing the CAD work for manufacture from here as much as I can.
Re: Undoing itself, of course, but the current prototype is fine, and it's a proof of concept, not a finished product. The final would be keyed or whathaveyou. At the moment it's loctited along with a nordlok washer. It's a low torque application, that works perfectly.
At the moment it's shittily machined and welded. This is just a slightly* more refined prototype that has some automation involved.

Fuck no. Check some of my previous posts to find out if I care about 3rd world countries. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles.
