How much should I ask?

I've contacted a breaker in Edinburgh to get rid of my old (2000) ZZR1100 and he's replied wanting pics and asking how much I'm looking for it?

I haven't a clue what to ask.

As above it's a 2000 model ,D7, scruffy but sound. It hasn't turned a wheel in 2 years and obviously has no MOT.

It's got a Corbin seat, aftermarket exhaust, Givi luggage, Helibar risers (very rare) and normal bars.

I'm only expecting a few hundred quid but what should be my opener? Any ideas on what it's worth to a breaker?

Why not stick it on eBay/Gumtree/Facebook?

I'd be selling those extras on ebay myself.

Then when you have got rid of anything of value, phone the breaker to come and get the rest of it for nothing.

They'll want to pay you less than half of what you're looking for.

I'd list it on eBay at 99p no reserve with lots of detail (for example, does it start? ) and lots of high resolution photos showing everything clearly. Someone will take it off your hands for a better price than a breakers will give you.

If he has to collect, i'd only expect about £300-400. If you drop off, nearer £500.

Assuming yours starts and runs and doesn't need anything major doing for the MOT or any significant servicing doing then upwards of ~£800 should be quite possible.

But that a very vague guess as scruffy but sound could mean anything you want it to mean. Write a good description for eBay detailing what's good and what's not so good along with lots of hi res photos and you'll get a good price for it.

Find "ZZR International" or "ZZR 1100 appreciation society" on facebook. Someone will snap it up from you for more than a breaker will pay.
