Anyone know if the little windows on the back being closed means they're not operating? Went past one recently and was surprised as every van I've ever seen always has a window open with the camera visible, but I've not seen a GoSafe one before. Question

Might be filming out of the front....

A lot have both front & rear camera's, but only operate one at a time.

Never seen one. What areas do they cover?

Wales I think. I'm not sure if they are anywhere else.

Seems to be suggested they don't operate (or shouldn't at least) with the windows closed. Nothing in black and white though.

They cover all of Wales now I think, plus a few other areas.

These vans would probably be more effective and even get some respect if they had a picture of a piggy money bank on the side along with 'KER-CHING!'

Well here is the website , there is enough information to make you slow down to third gear and stay there: https://gosafe.org/ There are locations for all the siting positions in Wales. Some are used regularly , some very rarely.

There are also some stealth vans , I certainly saw one in North Wales last year, it looked like a homebuild camper van , a Renault Traffic in Yellow, but I have never seen any in South Wales.

In the area Dyfed-Powys, the largest policing area in England and Wales, there are no fixed cameras, just mobile ones .

I put in 'Stealth speed vans wales' as a Google search looking on images all the working vans have a window slid or hinged open. If the van you drove past had the window closed , then maybe the operator was on a break or getting ready to move to a different location......
