DTR 125 Air Filter

Hi,

Quick Question should my DTR air filter be bone dry or should it be damp with oil (Bike didnt come with a owners manual)

Yeah you need to oil it, I just soaked mine in some 20/50 I had up the shed then squeezed all the excess out.

Any real difference if it hasnt got oil on when it is supposed to?

I would think if it has oil it would do a slightly better job at stopping any dirt and what not, but i am no mechanic its just a guess.

It should absorb the super fine dust in the air that you cant see (almost), and anything else that doesnt get stopped by the foam. Probably makes it sound a little nicer as well.

My air filter is dead dry, but I would of thought lining it with oil wouldn't make any difference?

They tend to fall apart if you don't oil them, they get very dry then just crumble, my carb was full of air filter sponge Smile
