I fancy tearing about on a little Ninja 125 - an utterly pointless exercise now I have a full licence but something I should have done after doing the CBT ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

I'd like the latest GoldWing to keep. The latest Triumph Rocket 3 to play with and an RD250 to see how much I am looking at the past through rose coloured glasses.
However Santa is definitely not bringing me any of those things. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition

Very nearly bought a VMax the last month then talked myself out of it. It's like a draw, a pull if you like towards a bike that offers nothing except the fact I've always liked them.
Reading reviews or hearing mates opinions on them still doesn't put me off owning something that isn't either rational, practical or suitable. |

I can still smell the exhaust in my nostrils, hear the ringing in my ears & I remember ever inch of every lap I did to find the right gear to be at the edge of the power band to drive it out of the corners.
I would donate my heart for just one chance to experience that on a modern MotoGP. |
I'd like the experience you had. Although I wouldn't say no to a few laps on a modern MotoGP bike, I have rose-coloured-spec syndrome for 2Ts, and although I've owned some good ones, I'd love a crack at the ultimate Probably kill myself though
I can't think off the top of my head of anything else I have a strong, secret (or otherwise) hankering to try. A lot.
Rode one recently, a freshly rebuilt minter at that. They were made great at the time by a sweet motor and the fact they weighed a fair amount less than contemporary 4 stroke bikes, which took a lot of strain off the very limited production frame, brake and fork technology available then.
Ridden at anything over 5/10ths they are a wobbly mess, but a vast improvement over anything 4 stroke that struggled at anything over 3/10ths.
Really brought it home when I had two sets of forks come back from chroming at ol' Phils, a set for the TZR 125 I was rebuilding at the time and a set for said RD250. The TZR 125 forks are considerably larger than the RD250 items. Naturally, having been gone for a few weeks I got them the wrong way around and slid the forks of the RD into the TZR, to realise that they were like throwing a hot dog up a hallway in the yokes.
As for the original thread, for me it would be a highly tuned Sachs Madass. One of them with proper forks, shock, 190 lump and all the trimmings has a place in my workshop any day. The only problem is they are morbidly expensive to both buy and build. Everything is litter on them out of the factory, and essentially everything apart from the frame needs binning and starting again really.

I have owned 2x 350 powervalves and one 350LC. The LC was immense fun. The Powervalves were a bit bland.
For me I want a go on a Rocket III. I'd love to own something like a Tuono V4 or even an RSV4 but at the moment I can't really justify the cost. I'm not really that bothered about the Ducati V4, or the Crossplane R1, and the inline 4 superbikes don't really do it for me.
I'm going to have to go for something of a practical compromise in the next few months, so watch this space.
Dream bike though? Suter MMX500 without a doubt.

Yep, they needed pepping up a bit, but it was so cheap to do (or get done)! And worth doing.
I managed about 500 yards on my brother's 350LC before I flipped it Only time I ever rode one.
I think lilred's comments about sub-par forks and chassis are a large part of why I don't want to revisit the old road 2Ts from an ownership point of view. I have fantasies of highly tuned fare in a modern chassis though
Weirdly, I do want to try an RD400, just cos it's one I never tried, but know I would quickly go off it, if I found it appealing at all. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I've always wanted to experience the 'joy of six' but there's only one six shooter for me, and with the right exhaust fitted I get very sticky!
But I'm a cheap whore, who has a list of 125&200's I'd like to try. Obviously a V3 Honda 400, and a V4, 500 Yamaha (though the engine is better in other bikes than its original home).
I've always wanted to try a very sharp focused V-twin 1000+ sports bike but not a red one. Quite like the bikes with 60degree engines.
The original V-max I'd have a good go at, and a Kawasaki Eliminator 1000, I'd really like one of those!
But the mostest wanted bestest rides of all would have to be after a box of brave pills. A really big old YZ, RM, or KTM and live for those last few moments of life! |

Well, to give you something to think about, I've always wanted to ride one of the 50cc GP bikes, however it never happened and never will. People don't race these here and you can't really ride one on the open road. Also, track days would be awful on a 50cc two stroke, amongst liter boy racers.

Luckily I can afford to buy just about any bike there is with a few exceptions. But when a friend bought himself a F4S MV Agusta I really quite liked the idea of owning one of them.Until it started to have some major problems, like the alternator wiring burning out and the fuel tank rupturing.Put me right off.
Last year I was at P&H in Crawley and there was the most delightful KTM 500 EXC with 17" road wheels fitted Yup I would deffo like one of those.Just to try.But then if I liked it that much I could fit 17" wheels to my existing KTM 450 EXC.But I have my XR400R fitted with 17" road wheels and I do not ride that often enough
I think that I will just enjoy what I already have ____________________ Just talk bikes. What else is there?
