Not cheap as you can see, but obviously the result of my dear brother walking around some swanky shop thinking "What can I buy the effing Suntans when they've already got everything?"

I got a few decent things, but I did get a 'motorcycle book' which is OK to look at but the bike info is a bit noddy for someone who has been around bikes as long as I have. I also got a Lynx gift pack tin... Both from my parents who probably should know better...? But they did get me 'Upgrade' and 'Drunken Master' on Blu Ray too, so I can't really complain!

Apparently when I'm grilling meat outside I can stick the probe in my meat (ooh err missus) and check it's temperature when I'm somewhere else.
This sounds like something that would be used for joints of meat but as I'm a lazy sod there is no way I'm cooking anything thicker than a 40mm steak on the barbie.

I've read the write-up for those stainless eggs - they float at the bottom of the glass. Surely they mean sink?
Not so long ago they sold such things as hand deodorisers. Use them like soap under a cold tap and the smell of onions or whatever would vanish from your skin. They must have had heaps laid around and wondered what to do with them..

Not so much a naff present but every Xmas my Dad buys me a bottle of whisky. I stopped drinking the stuff over 20 years ago. Dad really doesn't like Xmas (far too many bad memories for him) and he tends to hide away from it all. Him actually buying me something is special but I don't have the guts to tell him I don't drink it. He'd probably have a nervous breakdown not knowing what to get me instead.

My mother, who is famously tight, and has a minimum 6 figure savings balance, turned up this year with presents for all.

She hands me mine, and before I open the plastic bag it's in: "Yours was free. It's a tie I found by the side of the road, and I thought who do I know who wears ties? I have washed it."

I'll have to keep it in my wardrobe, just in case she checks up, but it's never coming out of that bag otherwise

Gift-giving has gone out the window with my parents and brothers. None of us are kids any more, and we don't have kids of our own, so it's not really important. We just buy tat now to keep up the Christmas feel.

So one of my brothers went to co-op and bought a loaf of gluten free bread and a turnip.

This was the biggest insult ever and I explicitly said I didn't want money.

When I was younger and skint, I would have loved receiving money.

Fast forward 30 years and thousands in the bank it's an insult.
